We are often told to carry our burdens quietly, to smooth things over, and to just keep pushing through no matter how heavy life gets. But eventually, that high-functioning survival mode catches up with you. Pretending "everything is fine" starts to take more energy than the actual struggles you are dealing with. If you have been over-functioning, constantly on high alert, and utterly exhausted from maintaining a perfect exterior, welcome. You can finally take a breath.
As a Navy Veteran, I deeply understand the habit of compartmentalizing. In the service, you learn to put your emotions in a box, focus on the task at hand, and just get things done. While that approach is incredibly useful for getting through high-stress situations, it can completely backfire when you try to apply it to civilian life, deeper relationships, or the profound, identity-shifting chaos of pregnancy and motherhood. You can't just "mission-manage" your way through deep life changes or trauma.
My background gave me the grounding to sit with the messy, heavy things most people are afraid to even bring up, without judgment or discomfort. Because of that, therapy with me isn’t about sitting in a stuffy room, nodding solemnly, or listening to textbook theories. I don't do clinical BS or lectures. By combining my lived experience as a Veteran with evidence-based tools like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), we can actually process your trauma and move past it—not just talk about it forever.
Carrying PTSD, deep stress, or a massive life transition by yourself is lonely, but you don't have to figure it all out on your own. Whether you are a fellow veteran trying to redefine who you are outside of the service, or a woman dealing with the fierce, exhausting shifts of new motherhood, I provide a safe, straightforward space where you can finally stop performing and just be human. Let’s look at the heavy stuff together, clear out what is keeping you stuck, and get you to a place of real, lasting healing.
